Webdesk, TNI Siliguri, 15th February, 2015: An unexpected performance from the defending champions and host of the 16th Year All Bengal Day-Night Sub-Junior Knock-out Cricket Tournament 2014 in the finals lead to a new champion of the tournament, Arun Bose Cricket Academy, Berhampore. The Berhampore team smashed Subhojit Moitra (Danu) Memorial CCC with 7 wickets to win the 16th version of the trophy.
The man of the match was Supriyo Karmakar from Arun Bose CA who scored 31 runs in the second innings. The chief guest Sreevats Goswami the Bengal Senior Team cricketer was overwhelmed by the atmosphere especially the hospitality of Jagarani Sangha and the ambiance of the game. He further said that such a quality of tournament is being played in this part of the state is a fantastic experience for him. Apart from this, there was Dr. Rudranath Bhattacharya, who till the end of the match stayed and cheered the young cricketers. He also handed over the winning trophy to the Champions. The organizers also felicitated the Umpires of the match, the coaches, ground maintenance staffs, the performers etc. At the end of the match, there was a dinner arranged by the Club officials for the players and other officials of the tournament. However, the spectators were disappointed when they heard that the much-awaited fireworks show was being canceled because the permission was not being granted by the administration due to the upcoming Madhyamik Examinations.
